Carly Fiorina is intent on spreading the word that Hillary Clinton is a member of the “professional political class.”

During an appearance at the Delaware GOP convention in Wilmington over the weekend, Fiorina feverishly distinguished herself from Clinton. Both are, of course, the two women from opposite ends of the political spectrum in the 2016 presidential race.

“Since I declared my candidacy about three weeks ago, I’ve answered maybe 500 on-the-record questions. Hillary has answered maybe 20 … that’s maybe a generous estimate,” Fiorina said, according to The Delaware News Journal.

The former Hewlett-Packard CEO, who announced her candidacy for the White House early last month, has been a vocal critic of Clinton and particularly her lack of accomplishments as secretary of state.

However, Fiorina insisted Saturday that her targeting of Hillary has nothing to do with their common sex.

“It has nothing to do with the fact that either one of us are women,” Fiorina explained to her Delaware audience. “It has to do with this fact: 82 percent of the American people now believe that we have a professional political class that is more focused on preserving its power and privilege than it is on doing the people’s work.”

“Bill and Hillary Clinton are the personification of the professional political class,” she declared.

The phrase is not a new one for Fiorina. In the GOP presidential candidate’s first official campaign video, she labeled Clinton a member of said “professional political class.”
