Melissa Joan Hart isn’t sure who to bet on in the 2016 presidential race.
The actress, who was vocal about her support for GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney in 2012, told The Hill in a recent interview that she is “not that up on 2016 yet.”
“There’s a lot of research that has to happen first,” Hart explained of selecting a candidate. “I want to hear them all speak, and I want to hear who wants to run.”
“I’m not that up on 2016 yet,” the star of “Melissa & Joey” admitted. “I’ve got to do some research, for sure. Like we all do.”
Back in November 2012, the actress caused quite the stir for herself when she proclaimed her support for Romney on Twitter, noting the difficulty of being a conservative in the sea of Hollywood liberals.
Finish this sentence for me… Being a republican in Hollywood is like being…..???? #election2012

“Can’t get too political in only 140 chac but for those asking, I’m voting #RomneyRyan,” wrote Hart.
The actress said Monday that she was “called every name in the book” for those words on social media.
Hart certainly had a chance to get in touch with her political side Monday, as she visited the National Press Club in the nation’s capital to introduce a gun safety campaign called Be SMART.
“The Be SMART campaign is simply being responsible and just gun safety,” she explained of the new initiative. “If you own a gun, if you don’t own a gun, that’s your choice. But if you do own a gun, just be responsible.”
Many celebrities like actress Olivia Wilde and rapper Waka Flocka Flame have unsurprisingly voiced their support for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, but others like Roseanne Barr have notably expressed their disdain for Clinton ahead of 2016.
Needless to say, it’s shaping up to be an interesting presidential race in Hollywood.
