WATCH: Funeral for George H.W. Bush in Houston

Funeral proceedings for former President George H.W. Bush are under way at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston.

The 41st president was celebrated during a funeral Wednesday at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., before being flown to Texas last night.

President Trump, Prince Charles, and all other living former U.S. presidents attended Wednesday’s ceremony.

Bush, who died at 94, was a World War II veteran who was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross. As a pilot in the United States Navy, Bush was shot down by the Japanese over the Pacific Ocean in 1944. Bush would go on to serve as former President Ronald Reagan’s vice president before winning the presidency.

He was also the last GOP president to win the popular vote.

Bush presided over multiple notable events at the turn of the 1990s, including the first Gulf War, the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, the dismantling of the Soviet Union, and the official ending of the Cold War.

His presidency would only last one term, however, as he lost his re-election bid to former President Bill Clinton.
