Two female teenagers were shot dead early Friday morning at an Arizona high school.
Glendale Police Officer Tracey Breeden said officers responded to calls of a shooting at Independence High School just before 8 a.m.
When they arrived less than two minutes later, two 15-year-old female students were dead on the scene.
A weapon was found near the two sophomores. The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the relationship between the girls is unclear, Breeden said. There are no outstanding suspects and they have no persons of interest in the shooting.
Their names have yet to be released.
According to police, the investigators believe the shooting to be an “isolated incident.”
Glendale Vice Mayor Ian Hugh told ABC15 by phone the shooting is a “horrible tragedy.”
