A Virginia family is seeking a return of their aliens.
Roanoke police said someone snatched the green plastic aliens from the front yard of Robert and Dian Bolling, the parents of three special-needs boys.
The Bollings told The Roanoke Times that the aliens helped their teenage sons connect with other people. The boys have a genetic condition that causes learning, speech and language problems, and requires round-the-clock care.
The 3-foot statues had sat in the front yard for more than a decade. Strangers have stopped to ask to take pictures, sparking friendships the family wouldn’t have otherwise made.
The Bollings have posted signs on telephone poles and storefront windows seeking their return.
