When D.C.’s delegate to Congress, Eleanor Holmes Norton, took the stage here in Denver, she started with a broad appeal:
“We come to Denver with the wind at our backs as change-making Obama Democrats!
The change she was looking for? Full Congressional representation for the District.
Norton railed against the “greatest human rights failure” in the nation, firing up the D.C. Delegation, where a “No taxation without representation” flag was waving, but making little stir in the half-filled hall.
She promised that if Barack Obama, a co-sponsor of the bill in the Senate, is elected, it will become the law of the land.
