The $2.2 trillion coronavirus economic relief package passed by Congress last week earned strong approval from both Republicans and Democrats.
According to a poll released by Gallup on Monday, 77% of respondents said they approved of the legislative package, while 23% disapproved. Both political parties showed similar levels of support, with 80% of Democrats approving of the legislation and 76% of Republicans supporting the package.

Independents were the most skeptical of the legislation, but 70% still approved of the package, while 30% disapproved.
The relief package passed the Senate with unanimous approval and sailed through the House with a voice vote after contentious negotiations between the two parties. On Friday, President Trump signed the legislation into law. It includes cash payments of between $1,200 and $3,000 to most families, an expansion of unemployment benefits, and loans for both small businesses and corporations.
The poll was conducted from March 28-29 and included responses from 2,817 adults living in the United States. The data had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
