Autopsy reveals DC man died of blunt trauma

WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C. police say a man who died after being found unconscious was a homicide victim.

Police say 61-year-old Darryl Sweet of Southeast Washington was found unconscious on Thursday night. He was taken to a hospital, where he was found to be suffering from an internal head wound. He died Friday.

An autopsy was performed, and Sweet’s death was ruled a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head.

Police are investigating and have not released any information about suspects or a possible motive.
