Three children were shot in the legs Thursday, part of a quadruple shooting in east Baltimore.
Police had no immediate motives or suspects for the crime.
Officers were called to the 1700 block of North Bradford Street at 12:45 p.m. for a report of multiple shootings, and found a 10-year-old boy, two 15-year-old girls and a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
All four were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where the three children were treated for non-life-threatening injuries to their lower legs and ankles, Baltimore police spokesman Detective Donny Moses said.
The adult was shot in the torso and was listed in serious condition Thursday, though police said they did not believe he would die from his wounds.
Moses said officers are trying to gain information about the shooting.
“As it stands, we don?t have any information about a motive or a suspect. But there were people out here ? school was out ? so we?re trying to get some information from as many people as we can,” he said.
The shooting came one day after Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon sounded an alarm about gun violence at the Baltimore City Criminal Justice Coordinating Council meeting.
Through March 31, Baltimore police reported 161 shootings in Baltimore ? a 32 percent increase from the same time last year.
