Testimony from forensics expert Dr. Henry Lee focused on blood stains on items from the room where Robert Wone was stabbed to death on Aug. 2, 2006.
Lee testified in D.C. Superior Court on Monday that stains on a towel found in the room could have come from the towel being used to apply pressure to the wound.
That’s what defense attorneys for Joseph Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky, accused of covering up Wone’s death, say happened. Prosecutors say the towel was used to wipe a knife planted at the scene with Wone’s blood.
But Lee said the blood on the knife was not consistent with having been wiped with a towel.
Lee also testified that the blood on the knife found at the scene was consistent with a knife used in a stabbing.
Forensic pathologist Dr. Vincent Di Maio also testified Monday. He said that, like Wone, most people who are stabbed to death don’t have defensive wounds.
