Bill Clinton joked about Bernie Sanders and his youth support on Friday by saying his economic plans boil down to simply executing a large percentage of Wall Street financiers.
“I think it’s fine that all these young students have been so enthusiastic for her opponent,” Clinton said on NBC of his wife Hillary Clinton’s struggle to attract younger voters. “And it sounds so good, just shoot every third person on Wall Street and everything will be fine.”
Clinton reportedly walked back that comment moments later.
“That’s a joke,” he said. “It’s a total joke.”
