Olympic medalist and model Kim Glass was savagely attacked by a Los Angeles homeless man this weekend, leaving the volleyball star with gruesome face injuries.
“As I was leaving lunch, I was outside, and I was saying goodbye to a friend, and this homeless man ran up,” Glass, 37, recalled in a viral video posted to social media.
“He had something in his hand,” she said. “He was outside of the car, in the street, and he just, like, looked at me with some pretty hateful eyes.”

Glass turned to tell a friend that she thought the homeless man could be dangerous when she had her face smashed in, the 2008 Olympic silver medalist said.
“Before I knew it, a big metal bolt, like, pipe hit me,” she said. “It happened so fast, he literally flung it from the street.”
In the video, the right side of Glass’s face is completely swollen.
The model is unable to open her eye, and a large gash on her nose is seen bleeding in the footage.
The homelessness crisis and rising violence in Los Angeles have reached a breaking point for many in the city, according to a report.
More than 700,000 people have signed an effort to recall Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon, a Democrat.
Critics of Gascon have stated their disdain for his “soft on crime” stance.
