PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (AP) — American Samoa’s delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives will be medically evacuated from Pago Pago to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu.
Officials at LBJ Medical Center in Pago Pago declined to say why 70-year-old Eni Faleomavaega was hospitalized Monday night.

A spokesman for the Hawaii National Guard says an aircraft from Honolulu was expected to pick him up in Pago Pago on Thursday afternoon.
Faleomavaega’s office says he is under observation at the territory’s only hospital.
A statement from his office says he’s stable for travel and that his condition is not life-threatening. His office says doctors agree that he should be medically evacuated to Tripler because of a lack of specialized capabilities in American Samoa.
A flight between Honolulu and Pago Pago normally takes about six hours.
