New Anna Kendrick movie about millennials: “Get a Job”

Hollywood is starting to do millennial realness in the new Anna Kendrick and Miles Teller movie Get a Job.

The movie focuses on Teller and Kendrick’s character battling the problems that are far too real for millennials: chronic underemployment, struggling with money, student debt, disappointing your parents, relationships, and the realization that life often doesn’t amount to college expectations.

“I’m 22-years old and I have no idea what I’m going to do with the rest of my life and I’m fine with that,” Kendrick says to Teller in the film.

Ironically the film was shot in 2012 and the director assured Kendrick that the film would never be released according to an interview with Indie Wire.

Luckily for the film’s financiers, the issues of heavy student debt, underemployment, and the harsh realities of life after college appear to be timeless. This may be the film that speaks to an entire generation.
