An elementary school student in Texas died on Monday after she was struck by a school bus following a student drop-off.
Emory Sayre, 6, was pronounced dead at the scene after she was hit by the bus around 4:00 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
No other injuries were reported.

“We are deeply saddened to confirm reports that a student was involved in a school bus accident this afternoon,” Brock Independent School District said in a statement.
Around 1,000 people have shown up for a vigil for 6-year-old Emory Sayre.
She was struck by a school bus just after 4 PM yesterday near her home in Weatherford.
Brock ISD is hosting the vigil put on by the family’s church.

“No other students were injured. We are working through the accident with local law enforcement and school administrators, but our focus remains on the healing of one of our own at this time. Please join us by adding this student to your thoughts and prayers.”
Close to 1,000 people attended a Tuesday candlelight vigil for the young girl at Brock Elementary School, according to a report.

The bus driver is not currently facing any criminal charges, according to a report.
