Donald Trump is now going after Marco Rubio. Back in August Rubio told Meet the Press that “if I comment on everything he says, I mean, my whole campaign will be consumed by it.” And yet the candidates have still come out against each other.
During last week’s CNN presidential debate there seemed to be the stirrings of a possible feud, as Trump criticized Rubio’s attendance in the Senate and the two had a back and forth at one point.
This Wednesday, Trump criticized Rubio’s hair, called him “sweaty” and said that he is “overly ambitious and too young.”
And then on Thursday’s CNN’s New Day, Trump criticized Rubio’s attendance record and foreign policy. He also said “he’s like a kid” and opined “he shouldn’t even be running in this race as far as I’m concerned.”
Not surprisingly, Trump lashed out against Rubio on Twitter as well.
Just watched @marcorubio on television. Just another all talk, no action, politician. Truly doesn’t have a clue! Worst voting record in Sen.

And just earlier on Friday, Trump received boos for his remarks abbut Rubio. While at the Value Voters Summit in Washington, D.C., Trump called him “a clown.” He also claimed he has “been so nice to him.”
NBC News, which has a video of the remarks, reported that Trump took them to be cheers.
Marco Rubio has hit back though. On Thursday he spoke to Kentucky Sports Radio:
He also spoke on The O’Reilly Factor Thursday night, where he criticized Trump’s debate performance there too. And he mentioned that Trump’s “very thin-skinned obviously, he’s very sensitive to criticism.” He also said “he can’t have a conversation about policy because quite frankly he doesn’t know anything about policy.”
Rubio did also mention that he doesn’t “dislike anyone who’s running for president personally,” but emphasized that he is running for president on his own agenda.
Despite such comments directed at Rubio, Trump executive vice president Michael Cohen told CNN earlier on Friday that Trump “doesn’t think about Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio doesn’t mean anything to him.”
