Former NFL running back Jerome Bettis, also known as the “Bus,” is going back to the University of Notre Dame.
The Super Bowl champion made the announcement Monday from the snow-covered campus of Notre Dame in a video posted to Twitter.
“I have always told my kids that whatever you start, you finish. Today I started my final semester at the University of @NotreDame. I knew when I left 27 years ago to go to the @NFL that I would be back one day. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams and further your education,” Bettis said.

He returned in 1996 for a short time, taking classes in “history, philosophy, marketing, and business,” but he was unable to finish his degree and returned to the NFL.
He left the league in 2005 as a champion of Super Bowl XL and six-time Pro Bowler.
