CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago’s WGN Radio have extended their partnership.

The radio station and hockey team announced Tuesday that they’ve agreed on a five-year broadcast rights-holder extension. The Blackhawks have been heard on WGN Radio since 2008. The extension means the Blackhawks will be on the radio station through the 2018-2019 NHL season.

WGN Radio is available in 38 states and Canada. It also is available through live Internet streaming.

John Wiedeman is the station’s play-by-play announcer for the Blackhawks and the color analyst is Troy Murray.
