President elect Trump’s home base of operations in New York City, Trump Tower, received an unflattering new name on Google Maps for a few hours, according to reports this weekend.
A search of the building on Fifth Avenue showed up as “Dump Tower” on Google Maps up until early Sunday morning, CNN reported. It has since been restored to its proper name.

A second act of digital vandalism temporarily hit Trump International Hotel & Tower in Columbus Circle, which had been renamed Dump International Hotel & Tower, according to CNN affiliate WPIX.
A Google spokeswoman told the Associated Press that the map is updated with user contributions, which sometimes results in inaccuracies.
In a reply to Buzzfeed News, a Google spokesperson went further by offering an apology for the “inappropriate names.”
“Some inappropriate names were surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologize for any offense this may have caused,” the spokesperson said. “Our teams immediately took action and have fixed the issue.”
Trump has yet to comment on the incident.
