Donald Trump on Monday demanded an apology from Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton after she said during Saturday’s debate that Trump “is becoming ISIS’ best recruiter,” and said the terrorist group is showing Muslims his comments about banning Muslims immigrants as a way to recruit people.
“I demand an apology from Hillary Clinton for the disgusting story she made up about me for purposes of the debate. There never was a video,” Trump tweeted on Monday morning. He added that “she made up a story — want apology!”

After the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, the Republican front-runner said all Muslims should be banned from entering the United States. Many candidate, on both the Republican and Democratic sides, have condemned his proposal as “racist” and “xenophobic.”
During the debate on Saturday night, Clinton said the Islamic State is “going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists.”
The Washington Post decided Monday that the video Clinton mentioned does “not appear to exist.”
Trump and Clinton hold very different views regarding the fight against the Islamic State. While Clinton is focusing on battling domestic terror, increasing the number of refugees allowed into the United States and boosting air raids in Iraq and Syria, Trump has promoted direct military action against the group.
