LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — It took just five hours for Las Cruces police to hand out 126 citations during a traffic enforcement operation, with nearly half of the tickets issued for illegal cellphone use.
Las Cruces prohibits cellphone use while driving within city limits unless the driver is using a hands-free device.
