Hillary Clinton may not be officially running for president yet, but she’s already facing her first attack ad.
“Stop Hillary PAC” launched a new six-figure online and TV ad campaign Wednesday, criticizing Clinton for “not being forthcoming about the deadly 2012 attacks” in Benghazi, Libya, according to the Washington Post.
The anti-Hillary campaign comes as the bipartisan House Benghazi Select Committee prepares to hold its first hearing on the attack that claimed the lives of four Americans.
The ad also encourages viewers to sign a “citizens subpoena” demanding the former secretary of state testify before the committee. It’s the first action by the political action committee, which formed in May of 2013.
“My number one goal is to make sure that Hillary Clinton is not the next president of the United States,” Colorado state Sen. Ted Harvey, the PAC’s honorary chairman, said in an interview.
A RealClearPolitics average of polls puts Clinton well ahead of the potential Democratic presidential nomination field.
