Ha ha ha. What? (ap photo)
Everyone is piling on Rudy Giuliani today for telling ABC News that, “We had no domestic attacks under Bush. We’ve had one under Obama.”
Sigh. You’d expect America’s Mayor to at least vaguely remember 9/11, which did happen under Bush and upon which he campaigned for president so vigorously. But we get what he was trying to say.
What he also forgot, though, was the whole anthrax attack thing that followed. Five people were killed, 17 were injured and “Amerithrax” was considered an act of terrorism — even if it didn’t come from al Qaeda. The FBI called it the worst biological attack in the history of America.
The shoe bomber, Richard Reid, also happened during the Bush administration, thwarted though it was. Probably the people on the plane that day count it as a domestic attack.
