Mitt Romney hits back at Harry Reid

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney hit back at outgoing Sen. Harry Reid on Sunday over Reid’s 2012 claim that Romney had paid no taxes in previous years.

Speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” Romney said he did pay taxes, but said “Harry, I guess, just isn’t big enough to admit it.”

Reid, a Nevada Democrat who is retiring, recently said he had no regrets about his comments about Romney during the 2012 campaign, pointing out that Romney lost to President Obama.

“He surely went over the line,” Romney said Sunday, saying he was “disappointed in Harry Reid. That’s really not appropriate for someone in his position.”

The former Massachusetts governor said Reid “was effective in his party but terribly ineffective in pursuing an agenda that’s right for America. But I’m glad he’s retiring and I wish him well in his retirement, but I’m glad he’s out of the Senate soon.”
