Rudy Giuliani called former Vice President Joe Biden a “mentally deficient idiot” on Friday.
“Joe Biden is a moron,” Giuliani told the Huffington Post. “I’m calling Joe Biden a mentally deficient idiot.”
He also claimed the former vice president was last in his class at Syracuse University College of Law in New York.
Biden has not ruled out a presidential run and won’t make a decision on whether to do so until the end of the year. But Giuliani said at 75, Biden’s age is likely to be an issue for the former vice president.
“He’s also too old,” he said. “He’s four years older than Trump.”
Giuliani was the focus of a sharp comment from Biden in 2007, when Biden suggested that all Giuliani did was talk about the 9/11 attack.
“Rudy Giuliani, there’s only three things he [needs] to make … a sentence: a noun and a verb and 9/11,” Biden said.
Giuliani said he believes Trump will win re-election, but said the “unknown” Democrats pose more of a threat to Trump than Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., or Biden.
“They need someone new, who would be more threatening to us,” he said. “They’ve got to hit us with a surprise.”
Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, joined Trump’s legal team in April. He unsuccessfully ran for president in 2008.
