A Landover man was arrested after he allegedly called in a bomb threat to the Prince William County Judicial Center that evacuated the courthouse and closed nearby roads.

David Heron, 47, was in the courthouse, located at 9311 Lee Ave. in Manassas, earlier Tuesday to get paperwork, said Prince William County police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. Heron was asked to leave after he became disorderly with court staff, police said.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, Heron called police dispatchers and said there was a bomb in the courthouse, according to police.

The courthouse was evacuated and area roads were closed as police and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the scene. No explosive device was found, and the area was cleared shortly after 6 p.m.

Heron was taken into custody at his home Wednesday morning, police said. He is charged with threatening to bomb.
