Trump: Obama ‘abused Israel’

Donald Trump accused President Barack Obama of treating Israel in such a poor fashion that it was tantamount to abuse.

“I don’t think there’s ever been anyone close, as a president, who’s been more anti-Israel. And I have friends who are Jewish who raised money for him and they are just disgusted. They can’t believe what’s going on,” Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in a pre-taped interview that aired Thursday night. “In my opinion, he’s abused Israel.”The presumptive Republican nominee reiterated his support for Israel, a promise he has made since jumping into the GOP race last June. Trump did not lay out specific examples of how Obama has mistreated Israel. Instead he maintained that the president’s foreign policy, taken as a whole, has been bad for Israel.

“Let me just tell you that Israel is a very, very important ally of the United States,” Trump said at a town hall in New Hampshire earlier Thursday. “And we are going to protect them 100 percent. 100 percent. They’ve been our most reliable, they’re our true friend over there and we’re going to protect Israel 100 percent.”
