HELENA, Mont. (AP) — The MSU-Great Falls College of Technology is being renamed Great Falls College Montana State University.
The decision was made at a Thursday meeting of the board of regents that runs the state’s college and university system.
The decision wraps up a re-branding process for all of the state’s two-year schools. The regents last month agreed to new names for all the other schools, but delayed the decision for Great Falls amid local calls for more discussion. In the end, they kept their original idea.
The regents want to make it clear the two-year schools have broader roles as colleges and aren’t simply schools of technology. College leaders are hoping more students begin their college careers at the two-year schools before moving on to one of the universities.
