Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence on Thursday reacted to new polls showing he and his running mate Donald Trump are gaining on Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, attributing it to keeping their message consistent and concise.
“I don’t think anything has changed. The message has remained the same: Make America great again,” Pence explained on “Fox and Friends.”
Pence added that his and Trump’s messages are simply “resonating” with Americans.
“Everywhere we campaign, it’s clear to us that’s what’s happening today is the American people. They want to change the course of this country back to strength and prosperity,” Pence said.
When asked if their campaign has regaining momentum because Trump is more disciplined at events, Pence agreed there was a “natural evolution.”
“His speeches have been very substantiative. They’re all his words, it’s all his vision,” Pence said. “Donald Trump will continue to lay out a plan that will turn this country around, and that’s why people are responding.”
Pence also revealed that he will release his own medical records later in the day from his recent annual physical, saying it’s the right thing to do.
“The American people have a right to know. Those of us who have the opportunity to vie for national office, I think we owe an obligation to share that kind of personal information with the public,” Pence said.
