‘Cancel this campaign immediately’: Bloomberg mocked for suggesting open office plan in White House East Room

Michael Bloomberg said he would forgo using the Oval Office as a traditional office space if he’s elected president in 2020, but the suggestion was met with mockery on social media.

“As president, I’ll turn the East Room into an open office plan, where I’ll sit with our team,” the former New York City mayor said in a Monday tweet. “I’ll use the Oval Office for some official functions — never for tweeting — but the rest of the time, I’ll be where a leader should be: with the team.”

The 2020 presidential candidate was ridiculed online for his tweet by people who despise open office plans and others who said it posed security risks.

Bloomberg, 77, is currently polling fifth in the Democratic presidential primary with almost 5% support. Worth over $50 billion, he is self-funding his campaign and is not accepting any donations.
