Cuban ‘absolutely’ interested in being Clinton’s VP

Billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wasn’t interested in a third-party bid against Donald Trump, but said he “absolutely” would listen to Hillary Clinton if she asked him to be her vice presidential running mate.

The outspoken businessman has frequently given his opinion on the presidential race, often to make fun of Trump. But Cuban appeared more serious when he told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd he would be open to serving on the Democratic ticket, saying “if she’s willing to listen … I’m wide open to discussing it.”

Democrats have floated names of various politicians such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Secretary of Labor Tom Perez. Cuban’s name is rarely, if ever, mentioned.

“The key is that she’d have to go more to center,” Cuban said, explaining his conditions for running with Clinton. “You know, I like the fact that Senator Clinton has thought out proposals that’s a good thing because we get to see exactly where she stands. But I think Senator Sanders has dragged her a bit too far to the left and other business elements that hurt the economy.”

The full interview between Cuban and Todd will appear on Sunday’s episode of Meet the Press.
