A representative for Sylvester Stallone contradicted media reports that said the actor became a member of former President Donald Trump’s Florida Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
Michelle Bega, who represents the Rocky star, issued a statement to media outlets on Tuesday, following liberal outrage on social media in response to reports about the celebrity’s purported association with the club where Trump now resides.
“Contrary to media reports and rumors, Sylvester Stallone is officially not a member of the Mar-a-Lago Club,” she said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. “He did not join the organization, he did not pay initiation dues.”

It was because of Stallone’s attendance at an animal shelter fundraiser at the club that people “mistakenly assumed that he was there as a member,” Bega said.
Page Six reported on Wednesday, citing “area insiders,” that Stallone had joined the club. The club hosted a dog rescue fundraiser on March 12.

Bega added that Stallone is a member of the Breakers Club in Palm Beach.
Stallone bought a home in Palm Beach in December and had been spotted at Mar-a-Lago in 2016 and again at a Super Bowl party in February.
