Donald Trump Jr. poked fun at actor Jussie Smollett after he was indicted for the hate crime he allegedly staged.
Chicago special prosecutor Dan Webb charged Smollett with six counts of disorderly conduct for lying to police about his claims of a racist and homophobic attack he faced last year.
“#justiceforjussie,” the president’s son tweeted Wednesday, along with a video clip of a comedy routine from a Netflix special featuring Dave Chappelle. During the bit, Chappelle cracks jokes about Smollett for claiming he was attacked by two men who shouted racial and homophobic slurs at him.

Inconsistencies arose in Smollett’s story as police investigated his claim. While the initial charges against him were dropped by State Attorney Kim Foxx, Webb was later appointed to take over the case after it was revealed Foxx had communicated with Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff, who is a close friend of the Smollett family.
“Although disqualification of the duly elected State’s Attorney necessarily impacts constitutional concerns, the unprecedented irregularities identified in this case warrants the appointment of independent counsel to restore the public’s confidence in the integrity of our criminal justice system,” Cook County Judge Michael Toomin said while appointing Webb.
In addition to Smollett, Webb could also issue charges against members of Foxx’s office for mishandling the case.
