Video: ‘Bump stock’ for pistols unveiled

A new crowdfunding campaign has opened for a device that can make a semi-automatic pistol fire virtually automatically, similar to how a “bump stock” works on AR-15-style rifles.

A company called Max Venom Product Group has developed a prototype for use on a widely used Glock 17, and it has opened an Indiegogo campaign to produce it’s “Fast Fire Device.”

Several gun blogs have described the campaign as mysterious, though the firm has posted two videos showing how it would work. The accessory is shown on the crowdfunding site, but unlike an external rifle bump stock, it is not seen on the pistol in the video.

OutdoorHub wrote, “they’re doing a fine job at remaining inconspicuous with this product.”

The development of the accessory comes as bump stocks are about to be outlawed by President Trump’s administration after surviving under former President Obama. They were used in the deadly mass killing in Las Vegas last fall.

In the videos of the new device, the pistols are shown firing much faster than by just pulling the trigger for every show.

“Over the past two years I have been involved in developing a device of my own. A device that will deliver (legal) full-auto-like joy to the freedom-loving masses,” said developer Colin Despins on the crowdfunding site.

He added, “Bump-fire is an established legal mode of operation for producing a full-auto-like rate of fire from a semi-automatic firearm. It does not make for more effective weapon. The vast majority of individuals who want to own such a device just want to enjoy just a bit of full auto like fun. Many affordable alternatives to expensive, legally-transferable machine guns, have found their way to market. Most of these devices require modification of the host firearm in order to function. UNTIL NOW!”

He priced it at $299.
