THE DAILY OUTRAGE: Cruise security

WHO: Federal Emergency Management Agency

WHAT: The agency gave $123,000 to Entertainment Cruises Inc. to put an alarm and surveillance system on one of its boats in Boston. “We feel that we’re really a low threat for a terrorist incident,” said the company’s vice president, Gary Frommelt, “but the stimulus was a nice perk.”

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: Remember the days when businesses large and small paid for their own security systems?

WHERE TO VENT: Call the FEMA inspector general at 202-646-2500.
