Baltimore Ravens safety admits he’s not been able to see properly for years

Didn’t see that coming.

Baltimore Ravens safety Tony Jefferson II prompted fans to flock to Twitter after revealing on social media he has not been able to see properly for years on the football field.

The brutally honest defensive back told his 64,700 followers that he stopped wearing glasses years ago — and wasn’t even wearing contacts.

“I can’t even lie – I stopped wearing my glasses years ago and that might’ve been the dumbest thing I’ve done,” he wrote. “I can see so much clearer and further with my glasses It’s wild.”

He subsequently admitted that he used to wear contact lenses in college, but he stopped doing so.

Twitter users were in disbelief at the admission, with some joking that it would be “over for everyone” on the football field if he wore contacts while playing.

Jefferson saw the funny side of the Twitter mockery, retweeting several jokes at his expense.

Jefferson entered the NFL in 2013 and has since had a total of 468 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and eight forced fumbles. He played for the Arizona Cardinals from 2013-2016 before joining the Ravens in 2017 and played for the San Francisco 49ers for a brief time in 2021 before returning to the Ravens, according to ESPN.
