Ceremony planned on National Mall for Pearl Harbor’s 70th

The National Park Service and the Friends of the National World War II Memorial are commemorating the 70th anniversary of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor with a free program at the memorial on Wednesday paying tribute to veteran service organizations.

It begins at about 1:30 p.m. and includes a presentation of the colors by the Armed Forces Color Guard, a musical tribute by the United States Marine Band, a keynote address by Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) and a wreath-laying ceremony at 1:53.

The memorial is on the National Mall, on 17th Street between Constitution and Independence avenues.
