Florida and Arizona were among the states who held primary elections Tuesday and the races are now set in both states’ gubernatorial races.
In Arizona, Republican Doug Ducey defeated five primary challengers to secure the Republican nomination. He’ll face Democrat Fred DuVal, who ran unopposed in his primary, in November.
Florida’s marquee matchup between Gov. Rick Scott, R-Fla., and Democrat-turned-Republican Charlie Crist was finalized Tuesday after both secured their party’s nominations for governor. Scott has been attacking Crist on the airwaves since November and has spent just shy of $30 million doing so. Crist has held his ground and the race is expected to remain close.
