First Lady Michelle Obama prodded an entire elementary school class to do the “Dougie” dance with her during her first Google+ Hangout Monday.
Third graders from the Brewer Community School class in Brewer, Maine were featured on the Hangout and one brave student asked FLOTUS what her favorite dance move was.
“Our favorite dance move is Raise the Roof,” he added as the entire class raised the roof in unison.
The First Lady did not hesitate with her answer.
“It’s obviously the Dougie,” she said while doing the signature dance move.
“Can you guys do the Dougie?” she asked the class.
While most of the class didn’t seem to want the First Lady “Teach me how to Dougie,” the First Lady insisted the whole class Dougie with her.
“Everybody—do a little Dougie!” she cheered. “Let’s Dougie all over the land.”
Earlier during the chat, Michelle Obama said she encourages First Daughters Malia and Sasha to exercise by turning on music and dancing with them for forty minutes.
This Hangout was part of a series of “Fireside Hangouts”from the White House. While President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden use them to discuss issues like gun control and the minimum wage, Michelle Obama was solely promoting her “Let’s Move” campaign. Last week, she went on a tour of the country to promote the program in honor of it’s third anniversary. To drum up support for the initiative, she performed an ‘Evolution of Dance’ number with Jimmy Fallon on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.’ In her skit with Fallon she did booth the Raise the Roof and The Dougie.
Still waiting on Michelle Obama’s rendition of the “Harlem Shake.”
