Newt Gingrich made fun of President Obama’s event at Disney World today, criticizing the president for making a big fuss over his presidential event. Gingrich told the audience that he was asking Disney to help him plan a similar event.

“To close half the Magic Kingdom for the purpose of a White House invitation town hall meeting on phony main street on behalf of a phony president, just strikes me as weird,” Gingrich said.

Gingrich added, “I want you to think about the president standing with Mickey Mouse on ones side and Goofy on the other, and I’ll let you decide which cabinet office he’s going to offer them while he’s there.”

Gingrich said that his campaign was sending a letter to Disney, requesting a public venue outside the park for a town hall meeting prior to the Florida primary.

“We won’t close half the park, and we won’t inconvenience all the visitors,” Gingrich said adding that he wouldn’t screen the audience, “We’d be glad for anyone to come and ask questions.”
