Prosecutors plan to introduce DNA, shoeprint, blood spatter and fingerprint evidence at the trial of the woman accused of killing her co-worker at a Bethesda yoga store.

Montgomery County prosecutors and an attorney for 28-year-old Brittany Norwood said at a hearing Friday that they still expect the case to go to trial in October.

Norwood is accused of killing 30-year-old Jayna Murray in March at the Lululemon Athletica store where they both worked. Prosecutors say Murray died after a brutal struggle between the two that crushed her skull and severed her spinal cord.

The eight-day trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 24. Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy said he will also present evidence from a rape specialist and medical examiner.

Norwood initially claimed that she was also a victim in the attack and had been sexually assaulted, according to prosecutors.

Defense attorney Douglas Wood said he is still exploring Norwood’s competency.
