Dave Rubin: Freedom and capitalism at risk if Trump doesn’t win reelection

YouTube host and political commentator Dave Rubin said President Trump’s reelection is necessary in order to keep the country safe.

Rubin, host of the widely subscribed show The Rubin Report and who identifies as a classical liberal, told Daily Wire host Michael Knowles in a podcast Sunday he’s become more conservative and believes Trump’s reelection is one of the most important elections in his lifetime.

“I think Trump has to win,” Rubin began, who also noted that he is not a strong Trump supporter, adding, “We’re in for four more crazy years, for sure. The only way we’re in for four more crazy years that at least continue freedom and capitalism is through Trump.”

Rubin said he voted for former Vice President Joe Biden in California’s Democratic primary in March out of concern that other Democratic candidates would embrace socialism or other far-left policies. Vermont socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders won the state of California.

“I actually went in there and voted for Biden just to stop Bernie,” Rubin said at the time, though he was registered as an independent.

Rubin, the author of a new book titled Don’t Burn This Book: Thinking for Yourself in an Age of Unreason, told Knowles that he expects Biden will be a “tool” for liberal policies that, at times, enable civil unrest across the country.

“He’s just a tool at this point. He’s just a tool in that he’s not running the show here. And everyone knows he’s having cognitive decline, and they’re all pretending he doesn’t,” Rubin said, adding that Biden would either step down once elected or be controlled by a liberal “monster.”

During a press conference last week, Biden said he was “constantly tested” for cognitive decline, fueling skepticism on the Right that he may not possess the mental fortitude to remain president. However, he later asserted he “can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against.”

Rubin said he anticipates he will vote for Trump in the general election.
