Israeli Air Force shoots down Hamas drone traveling from Gaza toward Israeli airspace

An Israeli Air Force fighter jet intercepted and shot down a Hamas drone on its way from Gaza toward Israeli airspace.

According to the military, the drone did not infiltrate Israeli airspace and had been tracked by the military from take off.

The unmanned aerial vehicle — commonly called a drone — was shot down by an IAF F-16 with a missile around 10 a.m. local time along the Gaza Strip coastline.

“We will not allow a violation of [Israeli] airspace, and we will with determination against any such attempt,” the Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement.
