A meeting by the Jan. 6 committee has been delayed due to new information that it received, according to multiple outlets.
The delay stemmed from the committee receiving more information, PBS’s Lisa Desjardins said, citing multiple sources. It is not clear yet whether the hearing, which was planned but never scheduled, was delayed due to former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone’s deposition to the committee.
Confirmed from multiple sources. The expected J6 Thursday prime time hearing is being rescheduled. Why? Being told – it’s due to more information the committee is/has gotten.
Asking but not yet clear if Cipollone, his 8 hours of deposition last wk plays a role in this change. https://t.co/GOzmX5CDSb

Cipollone testified to the committee on Friday behind closed doors. The committee will “get to use a lot of Mr. Cipollone’s testimony,” which was taped, to support other information it already has, Rep. Jamie Raskin, a member of the committee, claimed in a Sunday interview.

“He was the White House counsel at the time. He was aware of every major move, I think, that Donald Trump was making to try to overthrow the 2020 election and essentially seize the presidency,” Raskin said. “I considered his testimony valuable.”
The committee has changed its schedule to accommodate new information in the past. Last month, it announced a surprise meeting for June 28 to hear testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to then-President Donald Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows. Her testimony drew the largest live daytime audience, beating the previous four daytime hearings by reaching 13.17 million people.
Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon informed the committee over the weekend that he is willing to testify, indicating he would like to do so publicly, according to a letter from his lawyer Bob Costello.
