House Democrats turned the Inauguration of the 46th president of the United States into just another day of fundraising.
Twice, and before newly installed President Biden left the Capitol for Arlington National Cemetery, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dispatched two fundraising emails on behalf of Democrats.
One urged donors to give and sign a card to Biden and Vice President Harris. “I’m hoping you could spare 30 seconds of your time on this historic day and sign a congratulations card for Joe and Kamala,” it said.
The second warned that Republicans are poised to challenge Biden. “President-elect Joe Biden hasn’t even taken office yet, and I’m already watching Republicans vow to do whatever they can to obstruct the Biden administration,” it said.
They were just the latest in a preinauguration fundraising blitz headlined by Pelosi.
Others joined in. The group Deliver Democracy also offered donors a card to sign, shown below.
