The 3-minute interview: David Limbaugh

Limbaugh is a lawyer, a nationally syndicated columnist and the brother of radio personality Rush Limbaugh. He has just published a new book, “Crimes Against Liberty, about President Obama.”

So, why did you write this book?

I really think, without being cliche or hyperbolic, that we are at a critical stage in our history with the kinds of things Obama is doing to destroy the nation at its core. He is systematically dismantling America and our founding principles. Obama masqueraded as a moderate and now he is wreaking his liberal havoc on the nation, and doing it contrary to the will of the people.

Why do you say Americans are souring on him personally?

He has been a bully, a cartoonish character. He looks like an eloquent guy, and in front of a teleprompter is a sonorous speaker. But he browbeats his opponents daily. … This guy is a thug, and I am not going to sit around and say he is a nice, winsome guy when he is a thug. I think people are starting to pay attention. They are seeing the kind of guy he is.

When you say Obama is a “bully”….

When he said that small-town Americans cling to guns and religion — where is he coming from? It says a lot about him, he is projecting these things. He is doing affirmative damage to this country and doing it with reckless abandon.

Where do you think the Obama presidency is taking us?

Over the cliff. I think it’s the end of America as we know it. It is the decline, the steady decline of America as a world superpower. I am telling you, he doesn’t believe we should be superior, so he is taking us on a path where we won’t be.

Final question — why are you such a shy little flower?

Diet Coke. And have you met these book publicists?
