President Obama may be privy to one of the most well-kept television secrets on the planet, and “Game of Thrones” fans want him to spill the beans.
It was revealed earlier this week that Obama requested and received advanced copies of “Game of Thrones” season six episodes, making him the only person outside of the show’s production staff to potentially know if Jon Snow (played by Kit Harrington) is alive or dead.
Now, angry fans have filed a White House petition to compel the president of the United States to reveal what happens on the HBO hit show.
“We the American People petition President Obama to release information regarding the condition of Jon Snow,” the petition reads. “As we all know, winter is coming and Jon Snow may be our last hope to defend us against the White Walkers.
“It has come to our attention that President Obama has privileged information concerning the whereabouts of Jon Snow. All Americans deserve to know this information, and thus we demand that President Obama divulge what he knows.”
The petition was filed under the issues “civil rights and liberties” and “homeland security and disaster relief.” As of 6 p.m. Friday night, having garnered 38 signatures, the petition was 99,962 short of the required signatures to trigger an official White House response.
Season six of “Game of Thrones” premieres April 24 at 9 p.m. Should the petitioners questions remain unanswered after that, they have until May 14 to reach the 100,000-signature goal.
