White House communications aide Omarosa Manigault, a longtime ally to President Trump going back to his days as the star of “The Apprentice,” is keeping tabs on reporter April Ryan, according to a report.
The Daily Mail on Tuesday reported Manigault is tracking people she sees as “enemies” to Trump’s agenda.
Citing unnamed sources, the report said Manigault has told Trump directly that Ryan, a well-known White House reporter, is one of the “biggest threats to sow discord in the African American community against the White House agenda.”
The report also described Ryan and Manigault as former friends whose relationship soured during the 2016 campaign when Ryan allegedly advised Manigault that it wasn’t a good idea to support Trump.
In an email to the Washington Examiner, Ryan declined to comment on the report.
Ryan earned some fame in recent weeks as a reporter during the White House press briefings, sometimes tangling with now-former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
Ryan and Manigault reportedly clashed in February near the White House when the idea of “dossiers” on journalists first came up.
The White House has denied such dossiers exists.
