Comedian Samantha Bee took a swipe at the media while apologizing for calling White House adviser and President Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump a “feckless c–t.”
“I hate that this distracted from more important issues,” Bee said during her Wednesday monologue for “Full Frontal” on TBS.
“I hate that I did something to contribute to the nightmare of 24-hour news cycles that we’re all white-knuckling through,” she continued. “I should have known that a potty-mouthed insult would be inherently more interesting to them then juvenile immigration policy.”
The comedian instantly turned and further apologized to immigrant children for dominating the news cycle last week and “distracting” the media coverage from their political battle.
Bee has faced a whirlwind of backlash from those on both sides of the aisle for the vulgar slur she used to describe Ivanka Trump. Before making the formal on-air apology, she took to Twitter to apologize to the president’s eldest daughter.
