“Girls” star Lena Dunham may have had her ‘first time’ — voting, that is — for President Obama in 2008, but did she decline a ‘second time’ in 2012? Ironically, it seems like that might be the case, as reported by the New York blog ‘Room Eight’:
And while it seems that Dunham did ‘lose her voting virginity’ to Obama in 2008 — though not to John Kerry in 2004, when she was first eligible — it’s her 2012 voting record that is in question. And following her Obama for America ad, that’s the vote that really mattered.
During the 2012 election, Dunham starred in a highly-criticized OFA ad comparing voting for the first time to losing one’s virginity and calling out those who don’t vote as “uncool.”
“It’s super uncool to be out and about and someone says, ‘Did you vote?’ ‘No, I didn’t vote, I wasn’t ready,'” Dunham said in the ad.
It isn’t clear if the Dunham registered in New York really is the actress, and the ‘he said, she said’ surrounding the situation only makes things murkier.
According to a tweet from Dunham, she did actually vote in 2012, even though she was in India at the time.

Following the uproar and questions about Dunham’s 2012 vote — or lack thereof — the actress’s publicist confirmed to Breitbart that Dunham did vote.
“Lena voted in the 2012 presidential election,” the representative said.
Dunham has tweeted this morning, but has not responded to the voting controversy.
